I talked with another girl I work with, who is a teacher, and she told me some other things that we should take into concideration. These might help up later on other projects for this class. The virtual pet is a pretty cool alternative considering these awarenesses.
-*Allergies (this is a big concern)
-basically anything that has fur or even a lizard/reptile can effects a students allergies.
-phobias
-District Rules about having a classroom pet
-Fire Safety
-Licencing Laws based on that state
...the best possible classroom pet is a fish.
